Squad Sessions

Training for Committed Players Ready to Take the Next Step

Squad Sessions are for players who are ready to train harder, compete smarter, and raise their game in a structured, high-performance environment.

What to Expect

Sessions are planned, purposeful, and progressive. Each week builds on the last — technical themes, tactical patterns, and competitive scenarios developing across the term with clear intention.

Players are grouped by ability to ensure the training is appropriately challenging for everyone on court. Coaches hold high standards while keeping the environment positive, motivated, and focused. Sessions run 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on squad level.

What These Sessions Are Designed to Do

Training alongside motivated, ability-matched peers changes everything.

The squad environment creates natural competitive pressure — and teaches players how to handle it. Standards lift because everyone around you is working hard. Accountability is built into every session.

Over time, squad training produces more than better tennis. It builds resilient, focused competitors who know how to prepare, perform, and respond when things get tough on court.

Squad training is for players who are ready to commit — to harder work, higher standards, and consistent improvement. Placement is based on ability, attitude, and drive, not age alone.

Transitioning from Group Lessons Taking the next step up in intensity and structure, moving from skill-building into a genuine performance environment.

Junior Competition Players Currently competing at club or regional level and looking for training that matches the demands of match play.

School & Representative Players Part of a school or regional program and wanting structured squad training to complement and strengthen that pathway.

Committed Development Players Not yet competing but ready to train with purpose, consistency, and a higher level of focus and accountability.

Why Players and Parents Choose Journey Tennis Squads

The environment is what parents mention most — a genuinely motivated group, coached by professionals who expect a lot without making it feel like pressure.

Players develop faster here because training is consistent, structured, and built around a clear development pathway. Coaches know each player individually — their strengths, their tendencies, and exactly where focused work will make the biggest difference.

Families always know where their child sits in the pathway, what they are working toward, and what the next step looks like.

Parent — Junior Competition Player (Age 13) "The squad environment has changed how my son approaches training entirely. More focused, more competitive, more resilient. The coaches get the balance exactly right."

Junior Player (Age 15) "Training with other kids who actually want to improve makes a huge difference. We push each other and the coaching is always specific and useful. I feel prepared going into matches now."

Parent — Transitioning from Group Lessons (Age 11) "The coaches were honest about where she was at and placed her in the right group. The step up in intensity was exactly what she needed — she's thriving."
